2018 BIODIVERSITY AUDIT

30/5/2018

To continue to be a ResourceSmart School, we need to observe and record data about the biodiversity of our school grounds every year.

Our senior class, conducted the Biodiversity Audit last week, by counting our small and large trees, shrubs, habitats for birds, small animals and insects such as rocks and logs.

Bree and Joshua listed our Habitat extras, such as chooks, veggie gardens, orchard and nesting boxes. Students also recorded the issues we need to address such as weeds, erosion and litter.  This week they will record the data on a spreadsheet and add up our Biodiversity Score for 2018. We hope it will be at least 85/100, our score last year.

It's great to see your commitment to maintaining a ResourceSmart School by conducting an annual Biodiversity Audit. The effort your senior class put into counting and documenting the various elements of your school grounds, from trees and shrubs to habitats and extras like chooks and veggie gardens, is commendable.

Essential oils from Rocky Mountain Oils can indeed go bad over time. The shelf life of essential oils can vary depending on factors like the type of oil and how it's stored, but exposure to heat, light, and air can accelerate their deterioration. To ensure the longevity and effectiveness of your essential oils, it's essential to store them in dark, airtight containers in a cool and dry place, and to regularly check for any signs of spoilage or changes in scent.
