We found 188 pieces of rubbish which weighed 2.7kg. This is about half what we collected in the playground and surrounding streets last year. Foundation/Grade 1 students were a little upset they only found 21 pieces of rubbish around the play equipment and veggie gardens - we had to convince them that was a good thing! Most of the rubbish was soft plastic or paper and cardboard so we were able to put it in the RedCycle or Recycle bins. Thanks everyone, you did an amazing job!
Today was Clean up Australia Schools Day at St Joe’s. This year we cleaned up around the school and surrounding areas in our class groups.

Nude Food Every day at St Joes Last year almost every student brought their lunch and snacks without wrapping. We all did a fantastic job and hopefully this continues. We’re aiming to make every day plastic free so we can limit the plastic going to Landfill and spreading around the world.
Many students have already done an amazing job at bringing nude food everyday so far this year. Keep up the good work everyone. By Eli Grade 6 We’re still collecting plastic lids and bread tags and pens and markers for Terracycle. So if you have pens or bread tags plastic lids or markers that are not needed or if they’re out of ink, bring them into school and put them in the containers at the front office.
