It’s time to get your summer veggies in now the weather is getting warmer.
We made mini greenhouses this week from plastic fruit containers.  It’s a great way to reuse your plastic containers and the containers create a warm and moist micro-climate for starting summer seeds like tomato, pumpkin and zucchini, cucumber, sunflowers and corn.  The students working at school, made their mini-greenhouses to take home.  Here’s what we did ...

Good News -We received the $500 Wannon Water Ripple Effect Grant for a watering system for Waterwise veggie beds.
Thanks to the work of Jensen and Brendan at the end of Term 2 - measuring the garden area and measuring the beds, recording the information on a plan and photographing their work. We will receive $500 to buy the watering system and have it installed. Our students and parents will all be involved in planning it and working with the installer next year.
Thanks Jensen and Brendan - great work!

SPRING IS HERE!

Spring started this week and students learning at school, made the most of the warm, sunny afternoon. We used all our senses to experience the first day of spring. Here’s what we experienced…

SPRING IS … rolling down the hill and doing it again, smelling capeweed, seeing buzzing bees, putting worms back in the soil, green green grass, weeding and more weeding, horses, beautiful bright pink blossom, chewing on sour grass and eating peas straight from the bush.
What is Spring to you?
