Just like the little boy in the book, ‘That’s Not a Daffodil, they have had fun looking for the changes to their plants. Everyone was very excited this week when the daffodil flowers opened up on many of the plants. Lacey has four beautiful flowers in her pot!
LGA planted daffodil bulbs in pots in March and have been patiently and lovingly looking after them for the last five months. They have observed and recorded each new stage of the daffodil’s development on their life-cycle chart.

We had an amazing time down at the Men’s Shed on Thursday. We learnt that they have lots of experience making things like spinning tops on the lathe, plastic name tags with the Pantograph and wooden shapes on the bandsaw. ELI
We helped Don trace the letters for a wooden sign they were making. They made us a name tag each and Graeme made some fantastic spinning tops for us on the lathe. JIMMY We also talked to Tom about making Nesting Box Kits for our schoolyard and showing us how to put them together here at school. This will be a great community skill sharing activity and it will help us complete our ResourceSmart Biodiversity module. Thank-you to Tom, Don, Graeme and all the other men who showed us their fabulous skills and made us feel so welcome. The Wannon Water, Water It, Grow It, Cook It competition poster for this year, features some of
our senior students with their first prize for the 2016 competition. We’re starting to work out what will be ready for harvest in the next couple of weeks and we have a few ideas for our dish for this year’s competition.
