We have learnt that it is common during some celebrations to end up with glow sticks that have stopped glowing and these one-time use items end up in landfill. We discovered that chemicals contained within glow sticks they are unfortunately not recyclable, so the students have designed a solution for this and upcycled them instead to make bracelets. We used hot glue guns to fix used glow sticks together, before wrapping them in colourful wool and adding beads for decoration. The bracelets created could be used as gifts or to wear.
A fantastic solution and fun to make as well!
