The 6th R - RECYCLE

RECYCLE waste is the sixth R.  We need to RECYCLE wisely,  as throwing all recyclable items in the RECYCLE bin is not the best way to make sure recyclable items are really recycled. 

Try these practical tips to ensure your recyclable waste doesn’t end up in landfill.

1. Set up a REDCYCLE system (like we have at school), to recycle soft plastics.  Take them to COLES to be recycled.
2. Empty plastic containers before you put them in the recycle bin.
3. Don’t bag any items you put in the Recycle bin.
4. Only recycle glass jars or bottles, not window glass or pyrex
5. Recycle all your batteries at ALDI
6. Take your E-Waste (anything with a cord) to the collection point at Coleraine Tip.
7. Recycle all your Printer cartridges at Coleraine Post Office
8. Recycle your Mobile phones at Coleraine Post Office
9. Start collecting Bread bag tags for a recycle project next term.
10. Start collecting Bottle Tops for our Bottle Tops for Hands project - see above post.
