What a great RESOURCESMART day we had on Wednesday! Senior students did an amazing job working on our Biodiversity Audit with Hollee Chuck from ResourceSmart and Diane Luhrs from Hamilton Field Naturalists. It was fantastic to have Diane and Hollee’s expertise in observing the biodiversity of the trees, plants, birds and mini beasts in our schoolyard. LGC learnt so much and also shared their knowledge of our school flora and fauna.
We were also excited to receive our $800 Bunnings voucher from Courtney from Wannon Water, and a digital program from Zoos Victoria, our prizes for the Sustainability Test Match Competition run by Environment Education Victoria. Nerida Thompson, (ResourceSmart ) had this to say about our success. St Joseph's School in Coleraine were a formidable force in the Term 1 competition, flying ahead of other schools in the region to easily secure first place. RSS Facilitator Hollee has great admiration for teacher Chris Cooney, who consistently shows great dedication to sustainability and always goes the extra mile. They're a stand out school in the region!
